Introduction: Rajini is back after ‘Petta’ with a powerful cop role. The movie is directed by AR Murugadoss. Ofcourse Rajini plus Murugadoss is a lovely combination to watch onscreen. The movie hit the screens and lets see what Rajini have for us.
Story: Rajini plays powerful cop Aditya Arunachalam. He comes to Mumbai and lives with his daughter Valli (Nivetha Thomas). He roll up his sleeves to free the city from drug mafia and in the due course he crosses path with the villain (Sunil Shetty). What unfolds then is a typical revenge story.
Analysis: First mention goes to Rajini and his looks. He looks very younger to his age. His mannersims, comic timing and his body language makes the first half enjoyable. The first half is okay with the story setting and the charecter establishment and all the fun is okay. But in the second half, director seem lost. Many scenes do not stand to logic, yet it is fine for a southindian movie. The saving grace in the second half is the father-daughter bonding scenes between Nivetha and Rajini. Nayanatara’s role has nothing to offer. The director totally neglected Sunil Shetty’s charecter. He is seen carrying single expression the whole movie. Climax is quite predictable.
Technical aspects: Background score is good. Songs aren’t any better. Anirudh Ravichander scored poorly in songs.
