Everyone is aware that Bhageeratha performed thousands of years of penace to bring river Ganga from heaven to earth. He overcame many obstacles even after Lord Brahma and Lord Shiva gave permission for Ganga to follow him.
Now similar situation is being witnessed when it comes to Tollywood shifting and prospering in Andhra Pradesh. It is known that Tollywood is not confined to either Telangana and Andhra Pradesh and all Telugu people own it with pride.
But following the bifurcation of the state, Tollywood got confined to Telangana as Hyderabad is the most developed and well-equipped studios and labs. Under these circumstances, people of Andhra and the successive state governments are trying to invite Tollywood celebrities to develop the industry in the state as it has many beautiful, natural and scenic locations.
Under these circumstances, speculation is on as to who will be Andhra Pradesh Tollywood’s Bhageeradha. Whether it is politicians, former CM Chandra Babu Naidu, current CM Jagan Mohan Reddy or Mega Star Chiranjeevi or Hindupur MLA, Natasimha Balakrishna.
During Chandra Babu’s regime, he initiated talks to develop Tollywood in Visakhapatnam. He even offered lands for film personalities to come with studios. But it was in the infant stage and from then on the process came to a standstill though Balakrishna happned to be from the film industry and Hindupur MLA.
Now new government came and Jagan Mohan Reddy feels time is ripe to power Tollywood in Andhra Pradesh. He is set to hold discussions with Tollywood personalities and biggies Chiranjeevi and others. Though Balakrsihna is invited,he may not attend as he is set to celebrate his 60th birthday on June 10.
The question is will Tollywood work in unison and develop the industry in Visakhapatnam like how legendary actors NTR,ANR,Chiranjeevi played a key role in shifting the industry from Chennai,Tamil Nadu to Hyderabad,Andhra Pradesh or their egos bust the bubble and kill the industry at the infant stage itself. Already the ego clashes came out when Balakrishna fired on all cylinders against Chiranjeevi and team for meeting Telangana CM KCR without inviting him.
This time Balakrishna was invited and he cannot cry foul at the later stage if industry celebrities accept the concessions which CM Jagan is sure to offer to boost Tollywood in Visakhapatnam and Andhra Pradesh. Balakrishna cannot accuse Chiranjeevi and others accepting the offer without consulting him and accuse them of indulging in real estate deals which he did a couple of days back.
