India’s prestigious Chandrayaan 2 came to a crashing halt ten months back when ISRO’s Chandrayaan 2 Pragyan Rover hard landed minutes before the smooth landing on the moon breaking the hearts of many.
ISRO at that time couldn’t locate the Pragyaan rover and it contacted NASA and other agencies to do so. Thus India’s mission to create history by becoming the first nation to land on the south pole turned out to be a failure.
During that time NASA’s Shanmuga Subramanian (Shan) found out ISRO’s Vikram Moon lander debris on the lunar surface. Now in a shocker, Subramanian came with a serious of tweets that Pragyan seems to be intact on the moon’s surface and had rolled out a few meters from the lander.
He posted ‘Chandrayaan2’s Pragyan “ROVER” intact on Moon’s surface & has rolled out few meters from the skeleton Vikram lander whose payloads got disintegrated due to rough landing”
ISRO is now trying to checkout the claim that Pragyaan is intact on Moon. Shanmuga Subramanian said “It seems the commands were sent to the lander blindly for days & there is a distinct possibility that the lander could have received commands and relayed it to the rover… but the lander was not able to communicate it back to the earth,”
ISRO chairman said “We have received communication from him (Subramanian). Our experts are analyzing the same,”
