Aishwarya Rai to play the baddie in Mani Ratnam’s next

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has zeroed in on her next project of Mani Ratnam’s directorial. She is likely to play as an antagonist in the period drama which is based on the historical Tamil novel by Kalki, Ponniyin Selvan. Ash will be seen as Nandini playing the role of a power-hungry queen. The Bollywood actor has earlier played a negative role in Khakhee.

Earlier this year, the reports also claimed that Big B may also join his daughter-in-law for the Mani Ratnam’s project. If so, then this will be 11 years after their last film, Sarkar Raj, that the duo will be seen together. They have also had a special dance number Kajra Re with Abhishek Bachchan in Bunty Aur Babli (2005).

Due to the heavy star cast, the dates are being coordinated, and if everything goes right then this period drama will go on floors by the end of the year.
