All of us have witnessed what happened in Telangana. KCR relentlessly worked for the formation of a separate Telangana state. The people who followed the agitation knows very well there were highs and lows in the movement. But what mattered at the end was the formation of Telangana.
If you go back to the times’ when the TRS party was formed, It can be easily understood that KCR has started this agitation only due to his political situation. He was denied a cabinet position in CBN’s cabinet and hence to create a political path for himself, he floated the party.
Due to various scenarios that prevailed at that time in the central government, Congress conceded and formed Telangana state.
Coming to the current time in Andhra Pradesh, Jagan is proposing a new Executive capital in Vishakapatnam. Every one agrees Vizag has got all the potential to become a world-class city and compete with the likes of Hyderabad, Chennai, Mumbai, etc.
If the capital is moved to Vishakapatnam and then Twenty Years after that, Vizag is going to be the major revenue generator for the state. Some political leaders who would have lost his job as a minister can easily stirrup a movement with demand for a separate state “Uttarandhra”. If there are spineless leaders at the center or if someone thinks of their own political gains then Uttarandhra’s separate state demand will become a reality.
To avoid a disappointment of the other parts of the state then, it is essential for the present and subsequent governments to focus on development in Rayalaseema and south coastal district as well. Development in the other parts of the state will then become a deterrent for the demand of a separate state.
It is the responsibility of the political parties in AP to make sure an another KCR is not born and if someone is born, they don’t get enough support, due to decentralization of development across Andhra Pradesh
