In a sensational development, the ongoing border dispute between India and China took a nasty turn. Even as top military officials from India and China are holding discussions on deescalating tensions, violent face-off occurred in the Galwan Valley in Ladakh on Monday night. This resulted in firing from both sides and according to sources A Army Colonel and two soldiers were killed. Reports are coming that 4-5 PLA were killed while 11 were injured.
The army released an official statement said “During the de-escalation process underway in the Galwan Valley, a violent face-off took place yesterday (Monday) night with casualties on both sides. The loss of lives on the Indian side includes an officer and two soldiers.”
Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat, and three service chiefs and External Affairs Minister S.Jaishankar held a high-level meeting to take stock of the recent developments. Later PM Modi will take stock of the serious developments.
