After the big-budget films competing for Sankranthi, several small-budget movies are lined up for release.
With not so much pre-release hype, here comes Butta Bomma. A remake of the Malayali movie Kappela,
the movie has new faces hence there wasn’t much hype about the movie. Featuring Anikha Surendran who was featured in Nagarjuna’s Ghost movie,
the movie has hit the screens today. Let’s see whether the movie can create any impact or not.
Story: Satya (Anikha Surendran), is an innocent village girl who lives in Araku. She assists her mother in achieving the tailoring orders.
One day a phone call from an unknown person changes her life. Eventually, she falls in love with the auto driver Murali (Surya Vashistta).
After getting closer to each other on phone calls and getting mutual trust, they meet for the first time in Vizag.
Unknowingly, they are being followed by Ramakrishna (Arjun Das). Why did Ramakrishna follow them? What happened next?
What is the connection between the trio? The main film has all the answers. On the whole, Butta Bomma is a slow but average movie that has an important social message.
The performances of the lead characters, especially Anikha Surendran, are the biggest assets of the movie.
Barring a few boring scenes in the first half, it’s a decent watch. However, whoever has watched the original might not like this movie.
